tow gold class, meh
ACA received two “gold class” tickets along with a food voucher. What is gold class? It is basically what equals to a first class seat in an air plane, but for movie theatres. You skip the line and go to the “gold class” line. Then you flash those gold class tickets to the ticket person and “right this way” you are ushered to the gold class lounge, complete with chairs tables and bars. “Welcome to Gold Class” says the lady dressed in black and hands you menus. ACA was wondering how we were going to spend the $30 voucher, and one look a the menu, I started wondering if we can have popcorn for both of us. Cheese platters, $400 bottle of wine, cakes, some sort of mushroom dish. We settled on a $12 Churros and equally expensive popcorn with coke and I got a latte. Then the lady asked when we would like our food delivered, towards the beginning, in the middle or towards the end? We had an hour to kill before the movie started so we went back out of the gold class lounge back to the theatre and back to the shopping centre. I ordered a pad thai from some Asian place and ACA got his charcoal chicken (with left overs with Hermoine!) We returned to the movie theatre, passed the normal people area and into the “gold class exclusive lounge.” We informed the lady in black we have ordered our food, and we were lead to the gold class screening area. As we settled in to the recliners (there are 20 seats in this room) the lady asked if I would like a blanket. At this point I was doing my utmost to hold my giggles. There is a table in between the seats, complete with a hole to hold your $400 wine bottle and a call button should you feel the desire to order another ridiculously priced item from the movie. The whole “gold class experience” left me feeling completely out of place, and then 10 minutes into the movie the food arrived. The waiter lady crouched down trying to place the plate on to the table between the seats, I felt uncomfortable. I don’t like the whole being served to idea. Thankfully that was the end of the gold class treatment and I was able to watch the movie in peace. Once the gold class experience song and dance is over I have enjoyed the movie. The seats were very, very comfy and it reclined fully. the screen was just the right size and distance and the sound was great. We watched the Iron Man. It was alright. I thought it was a too long for my taste and they did play it pretty fast and loose with physics and gun mechanics. I did enjoy Ms. Paltrow’s performance. How she managed to walk on those heels is beyond me!
I didn’t do anything crafty yesterday and I am feeling withdrawals! I have lots of projects floating around in my head that needs to be done, maybe I should write them down!
